CHRISTOPHER SCOTT is the current principal at Southeast High. Scott was principal at Northeast Middle for two years and spent three years as principal of Monticello Brown-Summit Elementary where he was named a finalist for Principal of the Year in 2019. Mr. Scott also served as an Assistant Principal at Dudley High. Prior to his work in administration, Scott served the district as an elementary teacher at both Johnson Street Global Studies and Sternberger Elementary. Prior to joining Guilford County Schools, he was a kindergarten teacher in Tucson, Arizona.
Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Indiana University Southeast and a master’s degree in school administration from UNC-Greensboro. Mr.Scott is a believer in the power of the Arts. During his educational career, he has been a part of implementing arts integration both as a teacher and a principal. As a teacher, he assisted his school with the Opening Minds Through the ARTS (OMA) program in Tucson. He also implemented a school wide arts integration program at Monticello along with starting the Keys to Inspiration program. At Northeast Middle, he strived to make the band program 100% free for students. This year, Mr. Scott was recognized with the EdTA Administrators award
