A native of Florida, KEVIN REID is serving in his 19th season as principal horn of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and his 17th season with EMF. Previously, he was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach. He has a Masters of Music from Southern Methodist University, where he studied with Greg Hustis, and a Bachelor of Music from Florida State University, where he studied with William Capps. He has played with symphony orchestras in Dallas, Waco, Tallahassee, Albany, Aspen, Boston, Breckenridge, and the Dominican Republic. Reid is on the faculty at the University of North Florida and served as a visiting professor of horn at Florida State University for the 2006-2007 school year. In 2012, 2014, and 2016, Reid was chosen to play with the All-Star Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Schwarz.
